Respect Perseverance Trust
21st March 2018
At last we have received some good news regarding the new classrooms that we have been waiting for for so long. Hopefully you have all received a letter from Mr Spiers outlining where we are with regard to the expansion and we are excited to be moving in the direction of four new classrooms, a new playground and staff room.
We have taken part in a variety of sporting events lately. The netball tournament was cancelled at the beginning of March as a result of the snow closure and the rearranged fixture took place a week later. St James entered two teams and both groups of children conducted themselves brilliantly; playing their hardest in a very noisy and busy environment. The players worked hard all afternoon and for some this was quite daunting as it was their first time in this situation. After a hard afternoons playing both teams were knocked out in the group stages.
The week after the netball was the Key Steps Gymnastics competition. A group of 13 gymnasts represented St James – some only finding out the day before that they were in the team as a result of injury to other gymnasts! Again a very busy afternoon with a total of 145 gymnasts taking part. A huge well done to everyone who took part and especially to Lilly S.mith who stepped in at the last moment and to Beau who was our highest placed gymnast at 8th out of 50! Thank you to Wantage Gym club for lending us their leotards.
Congratulations to Meri, Abby and Martha who did fantastically well in their ABRSM Piano Prep tests this week.
