We welcome and encourage parents and their children to visit us and see the school at work.

Making an appointment ensures that we can allow enough time to show you around, and will also give you the opportunity to talk to the Headteacher, class teachers and pupils.

By law, a child must start full-time education the term after their fifth birthday. In line with other Oxfordshire schools, pupils start full-time at St James school at the beginning of the school year in which they will be five.

Each child is invited to visit school at least twice prior to starting as a rising five. These visits are arranged with parents and Pre-school.

Older children may transfer to the school at any stage provided there is a vacancy in their year group.

The School Association organises various activities throughout the year. In the past, activities have included Summer Fêtes, Christmas Bazaars, fashion shows, cake stalls, trips to the pantomime, beetle drives, discos and quizzes.
As well as being enjoyable social occasions, many of these have also managed to raise very welcome extra funds for the school.
We value the work that the School Association Committee does and hope that you will feel able to become involved and support them in whatever way you can.
