Respect Perseverance Trust
18th December 2017
As we move quickly towards the Christmas holidays it doesn’t seem possible that we have back at school for three months. The last few days are always full of events and activities and the children are always excited. All that remains is for me to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Year 6 enjoyed an amazing week at Yenworthy last week. Despite some very challenging weather and tricky activities the children were all brilliant and showed so much resilience in the face of adverse conditions. Well done to everyone who took part and enjoy a well earned rest over the weekend.
I would like to remind parents that school begins at 8.50am and finishes at 3.20pm. Karibuni are available for after school care if you are unable to collect, but often staff need to leave school to attend meetings and are not available to supervise children. Please contact the office by 2.30 if you are going to be late.
Thank you for all your support during the recent snow closure. It is always a last resort to close the school but taking into account the safety of the school site and of staff getting to school this was the right decision. Thank you to the parents who helped us to clear the school play ground.
The children all enjoyed a super Christmas Lunch today. The whole school were together in the hall for the first and only time this year – it was a squash to have 140 people all seated at the same time and as we continue to grow may not be possible in the future. Thank you to Ann and the lunch time supervisors in making this possible.
Don’t forget school ends tomorrow at 12.15pm and we return on Thursday 4th January.
Christingle Service in Church today at 3.50pm. Please collect your child from school as normal and walk them to the church. Any children in Karibuni will be walked to church and then returned to school after the service.
