Harvest Festival Letter

Dear Parents/Carers,

At this time of year,  people all over the country are celebrating Harvest and using it as an opportunity to help people less fortunate.

Harvest Assembly

During the afternoon of Tuesday 9th October, the school will be presenting a Harvest Assembly at 2:00pm at St James The Great Church and we warmly welcome you to join us.

Harvest Collection

This year, from Monday 1st October, we will be collecting produce to donate to The Wantage and Grove Foodbank. The Foodbank is a practical, community based project, organised by local churches, which provides food parcels to those in our immediate area who find themselves temporarily in difficult circumstances. The organisation is dependent upon donations of food and it is staffed by church volunteers, so all contributions will be most greatly received.

Unfortunately the food bank are unable to accept perishable items, however below is a list of items which The Wantage and Grove Foodbank currently require:

Tinned soup, vegetables

Tinned fish, meat

Tinned or dried potato

Pasta sauce

Tinned fruit

Tins/packets of pudding

Tea, coffee

hot chocolate (mix with water)

Small bags of sugar

We hope that you are able to join us on the 9th October.

Kind regards,

Mrs C. Smith
