A massive thank you to everyone who helped and supported at the Christmas Fayre on Saturday.
The atmosphere was one of festive fun helped along by a visit from Santa, a sing-a-long with the choir and a pop up nativity outside school at the end.
The Christmas mobile competition was a huge success and there are many brilliant examples on display in the hall.
The Key Stage One Runner up was Nathaniel Tysoe and the winner was Harrison Churchill. In Key Stage Two, the runner up was Georgia Rapley and the winner was Adaleine Tysoe. Everyone who entered received a prize for their efforts.
Overall the event raised in excess of £2000 and every penny of this goes directly towards helping us to provide the children of St James with opportunities and activities that add to our curriculum offer.
Thank you to everyone who has attended either (or both) of the concerts that have happened in school recently.
The children sang brilliantly with Mr Campbell leading them last Monday and this week it was the turn of the iRock bands to show us their talents.
Well done to everyone who performed.
Shakespeare Class have been studying homelessness and as a result had a sponsored read to raise funds to support Homeless Oxfordshire.
They managed to raise £190 and this will all go to supporting those less fortunate than we are.
Last Friday Key Stage Two went to the Oxford New Theatre to see ‘Billionaire Boy’. It is a book written by David Walliams which has been turned into a stage show. The whole show only has 8 cast members who played a range of different characters. It was an excellent show and we all enjoyed it. One of our favourite parts was listening to the song which included many phrases that a teacher uses. Including: ‘Walk don’t run!’, ‘It’s not my time you’re wasting’ and ‘would you do that at home?’. This made us laugh because our teachers say the same things! There were many parts which made us laugh and would definitely recommend it to anybody. By Year 6
Don’t forget parents are welcome to join us in church at 4.30pm on Wednesday 18th for our Christingle Service. The children will all have made a Christingle in school and these will be at church ready for when the children arrive.
Friday 13th December is our second festive film night.
Children are invited to stay at school and watch a film whilst enjoying pizza and snacks.
All of the money raised from this film night goes towards gifts for the staff at the children’s ward at the JR
