Yet more sporting events have taken place over the past few weeks. Three teams of players took part in the rounders competition last week and although we didn’t return with any silverware this year, the sportsmanship shown by our children was a pleasure to see.
This week it has been the turn of some children in KS1, with their quad kids event. The team came a creditable 5th overall, with Georgia in year 2 managing to secure the silver medal for the girls.
The final event of the year is next week when children in year 6 take part in the Frisbee competition.

Congratulations to all children who received awards at the VAT Primary Sports Awards, and especially to Mia who was chosen as the VAT Sports Girl of the year.

Wednesday saw the official opening of the new building. The Bishop of Dorchester came and enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the sun, visiting the newly developed site.

A huge thank you to all the children who were involved in helping on this occasion, they were brilliant role models and excellent ambassadors for St James.

It has been brought to my attention that not only are an increasing number of parents parking in the lane at the side of the school and making it impossible for the farm vehicles to use it but also people are parking their cars down the lane l and leaving their engines running.

There’s been quite a bit of nationwide publicity about this type of pollution and I attach a link to the Vale of the White Horse.

Please be considerate to everyone in our community when you pick up and drop off your children.

As we near the end of the academic year it is an incredibly busy time for everyone in the school. Please can you make sure that all dinner money is paid up to date before we break up so that the financial records can be completed.

Don’t forget you can book holiday club with childcare with TheClub@St James.

There are still spaces available and if you are interested please contact Katherine on theclub@hanneyce.vale- to book your child’s place

Rowling and Shakespeare Class are busy rehearsing for their end of year production ‘The X Factory’ If you would like tickets to the event please contact Miss Dade for a booking form.
