Focus on Inkpen

Last week the children in Inkpen class had a wonderful walk down to the village church to meet Rev. Alec. They were fascinated by all the different shapes they could see in the graveyard and around the church door. There were lots of ‘oohs’ and ‘ars’ as we entered the church where they enjoyed looking at objects they had only seen on screen. They learnt all about the font, the pulpit and the stories being told in the windows. They were particularly interested in spotting depictions of Jesus as they wondered around the church. I was very impressed with how they remembered lots of information from our RE lessons throughout the year.

A massive thank you to the Friends of St James who held a table top sale on Sunday. The weather was kind and there were lots of places for people to spend their money. This is has been the only opportunity for The Friends to be able to raise money to support the children in school this year. ALL of the money raised goes directly to helping us provide exciting opportunities for the children of St James. If you would like to be involved in the Friends do please let me know as we are looking for more people to support with such events.
