Respect Perseverance Trust
As we move swiftly towards the end of the year it doesn’t seem possible that we have come so far. Back in September when we welcomed our new students we had a few restrictions that we had to adhere to, to restrict the spread of COVID19. Here we are a whole academic year later and we have survived another lockdown and are now, hopefully coming out the other side into some sense of normality. We have kept our protocols the same in school as it made little sense to change things for the last few days, but we hope to be even more back to normal in September. We obviously have to wait for the latest advice from the government and we will keep you informed as and when we can. All that remains this year is for me to wish you a happy, healthy and safe summer and we look forwards to seeing everyone on Friday 3rd September.
In September one of the changes we have made as a result of COVID that we are going to keep is children coming to school in their PE kit on PE days. This has saved so much time and resulted in a lot less lost clothing. Please make sure that on PE days your child has a school PE kit on. This comprises a white T-shirt (these can be with a school logo or plain), black or navy shorts, and trackies for the colder weather. Hoodies for PE can be purchased from the school office. Football kit and hoodies with large logos are not uniform and I would ask that you do not send your child to school in these. All uniform with logos can be purchased from Wovena – the link can be found on the school website.
Good luck to all the children in year 6 as they move on to the next stage of their education. We have a week of leavers events and good byes. We wish each and every one of you all the best for the future.
From September the gates will be opened in the mornings at 8.50am. Children can arrive any time from then until 9.00am. All children will finish school at 3.20pm.
We also say good bye to Mrs Caroline Smith this week. Mrs Smith has been a part of the St James team for five years and we wish her every success as she moves on to work for the chidlren’s oracy charity Voice 21.
