24th January 2020

This term is proving to be as busy and exciting as ever. On Monday this week a group of children journeyed to Birmingham to take part in the Young Voices Choir. This is the largest collection of singing young people in the country and is something that happens every year. This year we were a part of the 6500 children who came together to sing a variety of songs. Mrs Smith has been working with the children since the start of the academic year and this was the culmination of all their hard work. It was an amazing day with a brilliant concert for family and friends to enjoy in the evening, although it did mean we had some very tired children in school on Tuesday!

We have added navy blue polo shirts to our uniform list. These are available from Wovena with the school logo, or you can buy plain ones from any of the usual uniform outlets. White polo shirts can still be worn, but are no longer available from Wovena and will gradually be replaced.

Please do try to make dental appointments outside of school time. I understand that with emergency appointments this is not always possible, but for a routine check up appointment made six months in advance you should not need to take your child out of school.

Don’t forget you can book half term childcare with TheClub@StJames. There are spaces on all days available. Please contact The Club through the appropriate email address or phone number. As a reminder – all contact with our wrap around care should be through The Club email or phone number and not through any private number you may have for members of staff.

We have headlice in school again. Please check your child’s hair regularly and if you find any headlice please treat immediately. The whole family will need to be treated if headice are found.
