Respect Perseverance Trust

You may have noticed staff wearing face coverings as they meet the children in the morning and at pick up time. As we see an increase in cases nationally and a tightening of rules around COVID-19, I would ask that parents wear a face covering as they drop off and pick up their children. Please work with us to make sure that all of the families at St James feel safe and are protected as much as we can in these uncertain times.

I have been made aware by a few people this week that parking outside school is becoming a problem again. Whilst this is, strictly speaking, a highways issue, I would once again ask that people park at the village hall and walk the short distance from there to school. I know that the staggered start and finish times cause congestion on the narrow path leading to school, but there is little I can do to rectify this as we obey the government guidance of staggered start and finish times. Whilst on the subject of parking, please DO NOT pull onto the front playground when dropping off or picking up from The Club, this creates a hazard as staff arrive and leave school.

A quick reminder that children should be arriving on the playground just before the time they are due to go in to school – 8.45am, for Griffin and Phoenix and 8.55am for Pegasus and Ghillie Dhu. If people arrive promptly (but not too early) there will be less congestion on the front playground.

You will have received a letter detailing how we are celebrating Harvest Festival in school this year. Obviously we cannot have the normal celebration in church, so please look out for the video of classes all performing for a Harvest Celebration. Donations of food or money can be made via your child’s classroom. There will be collection boxes in each room. Hopefully we can raise enough money to support a family less well off than us and buy some livestock.

Our new children have had a great time exploring their mud kitchen area.
