30th September 2019
A group of children from across Key Stage two took part in the inter school cross country last week. After some heavy rain the night before, the weather was kind to the runners and there wasn’t too much mud for them to plough through!
In each of the 4 races we had a top 10 finisher and also a top 20. Well done to everyone who ran so brilliantly and for the determination they showed on what is a tricky course.
Thank you to everyone who came to church on Friday for out Harvest Service. I’m sure you will agree that the children were brilliant with the variety of poems, songs and stories that they performed.
All of the donations we received will be delivered to the Wantage Food Bank – thank you for your generosity towards this very worthwhile cause.
As the month of September draws to a close we change our collective worship value from kindness to tolerance. I thought I would share with you a poem written by the children during collective worship.
K – Knowing when to help each other
I – Including others
N – Notice others
D – Do the right thing
N – Never stop caring
E – Encourage others
S – Share
S- Show others you care
The Club@StJames will be running childcare during October half term. If you would like to book your child a space, please contact Katherine on email@example.com or on 07770166157. Costs are £18 for half a day or £35 for a full day (8.30-17.30). Alternatively you can book for school hours (8.30-15.00)
The donations of chocolate on Tuesday for the Michaelmas Fayre were superb.
The house that donated the most chocolate by weight was – PEGASUS.
The children in this merit group will have an extra break time this week.
Thursday 3rd October is the AGM for the Friends of St James. As I write this we still do not have any volunteers to be either chair or secretary. Without both of these roles being filled the Friends of St James will cease to function and there will be no further funds raised to support our efforts to offer wider opportunities to the children.
Please contact the office if this is something you can take on.
