Respect Perseverance Trust
It has been so lovely to see all the children back in school today – so many smiling faces as I greeted people at the gate this morning, what better way to end the week.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome two new members of staff to the St James family. Miss Davies will be working in Foundation Stage and Miss Beszant has joined us in year 2.
Class Dojo – this is a brilliant way for us to communicate with you and also for you to communicate directly with the class teacher. There are, however some things that need to go directly to the office. If your child is sick, please make sure that you let the office know via email and if pick up arrangements for your child change in the afternoon, please contact the office as staff may not check dojo during lesson time.
Please note that quiet hours are set for staff between 5.30pm and 8.00am, during this time staff may not respond to your message.
We provide a healthy snack for children in Nursery, Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1. This will be fruit or raisins. If your child likes to bring a snack to school, please make sure that this is a healthy snack – fruit or veg sticks are ideal and do not create any rubbish that can litter our grounds. If your child needs something more substantial, please make sure that this is a healthy option and not a bag or crisps or chocolate bar.
Water bottles (full of water) also need to be school every day, if a child finishes their water bottle, we will refill them.
A massive well done to Charlotte in yr6 who held her own bake sale at the weekend. All her home made cakes and cookies were snapped up by her customers, and she made an amazing £61 that she has donated to school. I’m sure her customers are eagerly awaiting her next bake sale, when the money will be donated to another charity.
The cost of school dinners is £2.50 a day. Please make sure that this money is paid in advance through the Parentmail system.
Children in Inkpen, Rosen and Nicols classes are entitled to a free school meal.
Please can children come to school on PE days in their PE kit – this should be a white T shirt, Navy or Black shorts or track suit trousers.
School hoodies can be worn as the weather gets colder for PE and also in the classroom, but these do not replace the school jumper or cardigan that your child should have.
