Respect Perseverance Trust

Welcome back to Term 6, the final term of this academic year. The sun is shining and we are all looking forwards to an action packed term. As part of our Japan topic across the school this term, we are attempting to run to Tokyo, before the start of the Olympics in July. You can all help at home by logging any physical activity on the Get Set website. Simply go to www.getset.co.uk/travel-tokyo/log-activity. Here you can find the school by putting in the post code (OX12 0JN) and clicking on the school team. It is then simple to add any activity. We are currently in Paris after the activity from The Club children last week was logged – next stop Athens!

Focus on Year 5

What better way to end a topic all about music than to attend an outdoor carnival! That’s exactly what children in Ibbotson Class (Year 5) and Rowling Class (Year 4) did at the end of last term! Both classes had been exploring how music is enjoyed across the United Kingdom and throughout the world and a carnival was the perfect opportunity to showcase all they had learnt and perform in front of a real audience!

The afternoon had all the elements needed to give that carnival vibe: face painting, glitter, a procession around school, live music performed by both classes and individual performances from some incredibly talented individual and groups in Year 5, with a silent disco to finish off the afternoon.

It was the perfect end to a busy term and Miss Cook and I were both so impressed by the talent in Year 5 and Year 4- we’ll be keeping our eyes on the music charts in the future!
